I have some elk roasts from a cow elk my husband shot, and I haven't dared cook them yet because I don't know how to cook them and I don't want them to go to waste because I screw them up! Does anyone have any good recipes for elk roast? A recipe for a slow cooker would be preferred, but I'll take anything!!

Put the roast in a crock pot on low add 1 can beef broth, one can of apple or peachbutter or appricot preserves, 2 tablespoons dejon mustard.
cook all day and it will melt in your mouth. You can add alittle cornstarch when it is done to make some gravey. But it is so gooood!

When I butcher my game I rarely cut steaks out of the roasts, takes less time to butcher and then if I want steaks I can cut them when I thaw the meat or, you can slice thin to make chili, or I like to make about 2" cubes and mainate and then make kabobs.
