My name is Jake Magera, I live in south jordan Utah just basicly ten miles south west of salt lake city. I am vice president of the bingham high school F.F.A. I love hunting and fishing with a passion, its what I do and its my life, and also love trapping, I'm a trapping phenatic. I have two german whirehairs and they are the best upland and water fowl dogs in the world. Ever since I could barely walk my dad would take me hunting or fishing no matter what, if we were going hunting he would put me in a baby back pack and put extra dippers in it, my mom would work the nights at a western bar my family owned, and my dad would put me in my car seat and we would go spot light farel cats. my dad would rather watch me and my brother kill a big deer or an elk then he would, he would turn down more hunting trips cuz they didnt want me to go, and my dad would say then if he cant go then I wont go. so my dad is one in a million, hes like a friend or a brother cuz we acted just like each other. I like all kinds of hunting from upland, to water fawl, and big game hunting.
My favorite places to hunt in utah are, the west dessert for big monster mule deer, the north east part of utah right by Flaming goarge, and that lake has some of the best fishing ever, then for water fowl the Great Salt Lake is a riot, the duck hunt, the goose hunt, and the swan hunt is just unbeleveable, its like hunting nebraska, then for cyotoe hunting the west dessert is always good, the great salt lake is aswome, and flaming goarge is another great spot. I tell you what hunting dessert mullies is the funnest thing ever when you kill a mullie you earn every bit of it, theres no deer kaine involved or horn rattling its all spot and stock.
After high school my dad is going to send me to england for a year, to become an a apperntace horseshoer and blacksmith, to tell you the truth after that I think I'm going to a small community college and take a few classes and see what I realy want to go in at a univeristy. I basicly got a pritty wide open mind for my future. I realy wnat to try guiding people on hunts and fishing trips part time, cuz I want to take people who will enjoy ever single second of it, the one thing I'm going into is massage theropy work.
If I had one wish, and it was granted true, I would pick to hunt and jam with ted nugent,that is like my biggest dream I wish could come true, but you know dreams can become realities. he would be a hoot to go hunting with, then tim grounds, kelly powers, bill sanders, shawn stall. for duck and goose hunting, that would be way fun, thats my dream right there if I could hunt with those guys right there. If I had to pick one guy to go fishing with it would be bill dance, he reminds me of my grandpa, fun to be with and a great sence of hummor.
