Who I Am:
I grew up hunting on the Texas gulf coast, and really fell in love with it when my dad took me duck hunting when I was about 12. From that day on, I knew I’d be involved with hunting for the rest of my life. When I was paralyzed in the summer of 1986 in a diving accident, it was the one thing I knew I could not give up on. Three months later, I was back in the woods deer hunting. Eighteen years later, Streamlight & Buckmasters’ American Deer Foundation voted me Challenged Hunter of the Year for 2004. In the meantime, I’ve been going afield after big game all across the United States and in three different countries. I created a website called Follow Me Outdoors in 1996 as an information source for disabled hunters who are looking for ways to get back into the great outside, and as a result, I’ve taken up outdoor writing as a hobby in order to chronicle some of my trips.

Favorite Places I Have Hunted/Fished:
New Mexico, Manitoba, Alberta, Wyoming, Argentina, Texas and soon to be Kansas.

Interests:
Anything outdoors, photography, poker, travel & doing things with good friends

Who I would like to Hunt/Fish with:
Jim Shockey, Bill Jordan, Michael Waddell & all of my new friends with disabilities who don't get to go hunting as much as they'd like to.

Im not sure on prices...Sam has been a guide for a long time and knows that area real good. I just got back from Lake Charles and spent the day fishing with Sam and his dad and we caught tons! Hooked up on a 50+ lb Ling that took about 45min to an hour to get in the boat.

I'm the Illinois Ambassador for "Hunt of a Lifetime" a foundation that grants dream hunting and fishing trips for individuals who are 21 or younger and have a serious, or life threatening illness their hunt of a lifetime. I know you are older than 21 but you may know of other kids who could qualify and we could make smile in a big way. Let me know if you have any kids in mind that might qualify and we'll talk. God Bless....Gary Henderson 815-732-4553
